Like a candle that shines, his light brought us clarity, his brightness attracted us, his heat warmed us, his fire ignited us, and his smell delighted us. His melted wax is there as proof that he was among us, and he will not be forgotten. His living and ending did not devour us reminding us that he was a life-giving candle and not a destructive one. Although now we mourn that we may not see him again, may we be reminded he was life-giving, and is now present in our hearts as a legacy of his existence among us. Let us uphold his memory in our conscience by being candles in this world whose light does not mislead, whose brightness does not blind, whose heat does not harm, whose fire does not devour, and whose smell does not intoxicate. Thank you so much Cedric for having impacted us so deeply. Your life was truly inspiring in many ways.
